Saas-software recurring payments

About OutSmart

OutSmart started in 2012. The SaaS product is a replacement for the traditional work order form with carbon copy. It consists of an online account with a planning board for the office and an app that can be used on location. Apart from independent contractors, over 3,100 SMEs have subscribed, from landscaping and cleaning services to roofing companies and construction companies. OutSmart customers have a subscription, with licenses for their employees.

About the payment process

“A small regular monthly payment feels more natural.”

— Steven Rigter, founder OutSmart

“OutSmart used to cost 90 euro per year. With the additional features, this amount has been raised to 120 euro in order to break-even. How did customers react? The number of new clients immediately dropped. We responded by changing our payment strategy to a subscription model. Subscriptions were on the rise again. A small regular monthly payment feels more natural. And each month you validate your service.” Payments are mostly made using direct debit (or SEPA Direct Debit), but it’s also possible to pay with iDEAL, PayPal or credit card.

'Money on the bank'

Steven Rigter: “Althoug we bill small amounts for our subscriptions, we do have a large market. The subscripton industry’s growth is cumulative. Each month, there’s a fixed revenue. It’s important to have ‘money on the bank’. It allows you to hire more people and grow fast. With Buckaroo’s recurring payments, you remain in total control.”
