About the Hartstichting
The Hartstichting fights against cardiovascular diseases. From each donated euro, € 0,81 is used for scientific research, information, prevention and patients’ interests. Donors can make a one-off or monthly donation on the website using iDEAL, credit card or authorization. During the Hartstichting’s annual one-week collection (in April), people can also donate money using iDEAL and Tikkie.

Donating – just like making a payment – is becoming increasingly easy. It has to, because nowadays a lot of people hardly carry around cash money. It is hard to find donors as well as people who want to collect the money. It’s a problem the Hartstichting is well aware of.
To make donating as easy as possible, the Hartstichting embraces new payment initiatives. Thus, they offer the possibility to make a donation with an iDEAL QR code. People can now make doorstep payments with their smartphone and donors can adjust the amount they’d like to donate.
New target group
“Donating money should be modernized”, says Hartstichting. “We want to make it easier for people to donate money and we want to appeal to a new group of people who want to collect the money ass well. Young people do not like to collect money from door to door. They prefer to make a donation online using their smartphone. Therefore, people can set up their own donations page, for example for a sponsor campaign."

Special fee for charities
When it comes to donations, it is important that as much of the donated amount as possible is received by the good cause. In the search for new payment methods it is therefore key that the costs involved remain as low as possible. Equipping each collection box with a pin code device is therefore not an option. The transaction fees of iDEAL, PayPal and credit card are for example also taken into account. That’s why Buckaroo offers good causes a special fee.
