What is Payconiq?
Payconiq is an omnichannel payment method for the Belgium market. This means that with Payconiq, you can make online as well as offline payments. In stores, restaurants or webshops. How does Payconiq work?
Payconiq is a new payment method with which you can make payments to your friends, in stores, in the hospitality industry and now also in webshops by using your smartphone. The payment system was launched at the end of 2015 by ING, but nowadays several Belgian and Dutch banks are also offering this service. Currently, more than 50,000 shops ‒ large as well as small ‒ use Payconiq. The payment method has been developed on PSD2, the latest European banking system, which allows consumers to make a payment with their smartphone at the press of a button, without being directed to their bank.
