Choose your own gift card, gift certificate or voucher
Â
By issuing your own gift certificate, your business offers customers the possibility to purchase a gift certificate online and offer it as a gift to someone else. The gift certificate is made payable in euros, is unique and is activated as soon as the consumer has successfully purchased it during checkout (for example via iDEAL). From that point on, the gift certificate is active and can be used as a means of payment in your webshop.
Your own gift card is added as a gift card type to the generic payment method âgift cardsâ. Thus, Buckaroo enables quick an easy implementation, giving you the opportunity to not only accept your own gift card but also other types of gift cards such as the fashioncheque, and offer them to your customers.
Â
How does it work?
The consumer selects the desired product in the webshop and follows the regular order process. During checkout, the consumer opts for payment with a gift card. If the balance on the gift card is insufficient, the consumer is informed directly that the remaining amount should be paid with a different payment method or gift card.
You as a business decide whether the balance on the gift certificate needs to be spent at once or can be divided over multiple visists. This can be decided for each specific gift card. Cards are usually valid for 3 years. An expiry date shorter than 1 year is usually not allowed.
If you already have your own branded gift card that is connected to the Intersolve or TCS platform, but so far have only accepted it in you brick and mortar store(s), then you can register it at Buckaroo as an online payment method. Your own gift card is then added as a payment method to your webshopâs checkout. From that point on, your customers can use your gift card online as well.
"The Girav Giftcard (in fancy packaging) strongly contributes to the customer experience of our brand."
— Henk Gankema, e-commerce director Girav
